PARTICIPATION IN FAIRS:

Under the name of our exports consortium VINAURUM, we shall be attending various fairs and exhibition salons to present our wines to the world. Come and pay us a visit!

FENAVIN. A national wine fair that is to take place in the Congress and Exhibitions Centre in Ciudad Real (Camino Viejo de Alarcos, 30) from 8 to 11 May 2003. You'll find us in the Hesiodo Pavilion, stand A-34.
ALIMENTARIA DE MÉXICO. An exhibition salon dedicated to foodstuffs in general and in particular, wine. It is to be held in Mexico DF from 2 to 6 June 2003. 304.56.
ASPEN FOOD AND WINE MAGAZINE CLASSIC. A wine festival in ASPEN in the US state of Colorado. It is to be held from 13 to 15 June.

EVENTS:

BOTTLES DESIGNED BY ARTISTS PROJECT
Led by the desire to support the cultural promotion of our autonomous region, we have collaborated with Espacio Rinocero, an artistic exhibition room for cultural promotion and diffusion based in the city of Palencia, in the BOTELLAS DE ARTISTAS PROJECT. The project includes an exhibition on Finca de la Legua with works based on the culture of wine by twelve artists from Castilla y León. The artists have also created a collection of labels for twelve bottles of wine from La Legua. Due to its success, we have decided to extend the exhibition of the artists' works and their bottles until next September 2003.

PRESENTATIONS OF LA LEGUA

MINI-FAIR IN THE HOTEL BAHÍA (SANTANDER)
On 26 May 2003, from 11.00 a.m. to 8.30 p.m., there is a wine presentation aimed at professionals of the sector. It is being organised by Philippe Cesco and will take place in the Hotel Bahía in Santander. The presentation is set to include the participation of wineries of recognised prestige, together with excellent wines. LA LEGUA WINE WEEK IN THE HOSPEDERÍA EL CONVENTO (PALENCIA)
This old monastery, nowadays refurbished as a hostelry, has everything you could need for an unforgettable weekend: exquisite service and a magnificent setting for the enjoyment of good food and a well-deserved rest.

LA LEGUA WINE WEEK IN RESTAURANTE EL CANDIL (SALAMANCA)
Next to the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, Restaurante Candil is a must for those in search of good Castilian cuisine. A varied menu and an excellent selection of wines back the restaurant's deserved reputation.

LA LEGUA WINE WEEK IN THE RESTAURANT EL RHIN (SANTANDER)
From 9 to 15 June, guests at the Hotel Rhin will be able to enjoy meals from the restaurant's excellent menu complemented with La Legua wines as they take in the best views of El Sardinero beach. Koldo, the restaurant's sommelier, recommends La Legua Crianza with Láminas de Bacalao al pil-pil (cod in a pil-pil sauce), Setas fritas y Espuma de Queso Parmesano (wild mushrooms fried and served in a light Parmesan cheese sauce) and La Legua Reserva with Pichón en Dos Cocciones, Corte de sus Higaditos y Reducción de Cerveza Negra (pigeon served in a dark beer and pigeon liver sauce).

VISITS TO THE WINERY

ENGINEERS CONGRESS
On 4 April last, we were pleased to welcome to the Estate of La Legua the 50 participants of the congress of the SEFI (European Society for Engineering Education), who came from countries all over Europe.
The congress was organised by the University of Valladolid and sponsored by the Junta de Castilla y León and Bodegas Emeterio Fernández. As good scientists, they showed interest in winemaking methods and techniques and, as good gourmets, they appreciated and enjoyed our La Legua wine.

We are also grateful to the many other people, sector professionals and others, wine-lovers and interested parties who have honoured us with their visit... sorry, but we don't have space here for you all!
