D.O. CIGALES

The Cigales Denomination of Origin (D.O.), covering an area of 2,700 ha, is the smallest high-quality winemaking area within the region of Castile and León.

It is located on the Castilian plateau in the north of the province of Valladolid, at an altitude of 780 meters. The average temperature throughout the year is 12ºC, with annual average rainfall of 350-400 mm and 2,500 hours of sunlight. The climate is continental with an Atlantic influence, great temperature fluctuations, a harsh summer drought and long, rough winters.
